jess and sam and phuket part 3

The 3rd day of adventure in Phuket continues…

We woke up early and had breakfast by the beach again. I love buffet breakfasts – nothing better to wake up to than a hearty breakfast!!!

.
.
.
.

An hour after breakfast, we went to Jet Ski!

Omg I love Jet-Skiing! I swear racing across the sea and jumping waves is one of the best feelings ever.

It was really fun jet-skiing in Phuket because they allow you to ride to wherever the hell you want, no restrictions!

The last time I went jet-skiing at Bintan, the area allowed was so retardedly small.

The downside was that the water was quite choppy that day with relatively big waves. It is the monsoon season afterall.

After jet-skiing for about 15 mins, there was a wave wayyy too big for me to handle and the jet ski toppled over, throwing us off.

Everything happened so fast, it was like “WEEEE look at me jet-skiing across Phuket”

and then like “Ooooh shit there’s a huge ass wave… we’re going down”

and then like “yup okay we just got washed off the jet ski and into sea, now what?”

I bobbed back up to the surface in a few seconds, Sam held my hand and we both gasped for air as wave after wave kept dunking us…

For one moment, it felt like one of those movie scenes whereby you look around desperately for your lover in the sea going like, “Where are you?? Hold my hand!!!”

After like 10 mins,

someone finally noticed us and came with a jet ski to pick us up, but he picked Sam up and left me floating there helplessly omg!!

I was pretty tired and scared by then because there was just sooo many big waves crashing down on my head every few seconds and I couldn’t breathe properly, and the current kept pulling me back further into sea, plus the lifejacket was slipping through and I tried my best to swim forward but to no avail, and for a moment I thought I might drown.

Sam tried to swim back to me but some guy with a jet ski got to me first, and dragged me back to shore…

.
.
.
.

Couldn’t even walk properly when I reached the shore but I was glad to be on dry land again.

I felt soo bad cuz I was the one behind the wheel and caused the both of us to fall off, and Sam was just so worried sick and I knew he had enough strength to have swam back to shore himself but he chose to stick with me.

Definitely one of the most dramatic moments in my life because if someone didn’t come get me, I would have slowly but surely drowned as Sam said. I think drowning is one of the worst ways to die :(

Anyway the main point is that I’m still here now, very much alive and kicking and thus you still have the privilege of reading my blog, yay :P

End of dramatic story.

We went back to our hotel room which was thankfully only a few steps away, and I told Sam I wanted to go parasailing next but he didn’t allow me to go!! Booooooooooo.

He promised he’d take me parasailing some other time but not this time cuz the jet ski incident was enough “excitement” for one day.

.
.
.

We fell asleep cuz we were both sooo tired and about 2 hours later, we were awoken by a phone call telling us a van was already waiting at the lobby to pick us up! Wtf!

Totally forgot about the day’s tour I’d planned the night before. Got changed and out of the room in like 3 minutes. Sometimes I’m amazed at how I can take 3 mins or 3 hours to leave the house.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Took quite a long drive away from the city…

And we arrive at our destination!!

Can you spot my ride for the day? Nope, not a jet ski this time!

A freaking elephant!!!

And as if riding a jet ski and an elephant isn’t enough for one day, we also went on…

ATV vehicles!!!

But first, we’re treated to a monkey show.

Monkey selling monkey balm! (That I bought for 10 baht, I passed the monkey the coin and he gave me a small box hahaha)

Sawadee kaaaaaaaaa!! ^.^

Not only is this monkey a merchant and greets people politely, he also….

Plays basketball well

Of course, this would not be possible without strenuous training!

Monkey does push ups :P

Sit ups too!!! LOL.

Monkey rides a bike!

We yell out numbers and the monkey actually knows where it is without looking! Omg, now I need a pet like that.

The trainer then asked me to come and try pick out the numbers myself just like the monkey did, and I couldn’t even do it after the 6th try -_-

I dunno why he did that though, either to prove that there wasn’t any markings on the back of the planks or that his monkey is smarter than me.

Is it just me or does the monkey look like he’s laughing at me??

Great. Now Sam can go marry a monkey instead because it does everything I can’t. I can’t play basketball, can’t ride a bike, can’t do math and I’m pretty sure I’d make a terrible salesperson.

Monkey seems to like my boyfriend…

Yup monkey definitely likes my boyfriend.

Our elephant ride through the jungle awaits!

I’ve sat on elephants before, but it was nothing like this!!!!

It was usually on solid ground, but this time we were going down muddy steep slopes and into the jungle which made it twice as bumpy and scary!

Check out how steep the slopes are!

I was quite afraid the elephant would slip and fall although high unlikely… I wonder if elephants ever trip lol would be quite funny since they’re so big and clumsy looking

Pretty cool trekking through the jungle on an elephant, the only downside was that there was sooo much HUGE flies and insects everywhere and I think I spent more time smacking flies and freaking out than actually acknowledging the fact that I was on an elephant.

The mahout smacked the elephant’s head with a stick when it was going the wrong way and Sam was like “WTF who does that? What if the elephant gets pissed off and throws us off cuz I’m pretty sure I’d be pissed off if someone smacked my head like that” hahahaha

For those of who you have never been on an elephant ride before, it’s quite slow and extremely rocky! You rock to the left and to the right when the elephant walks, and you feel like you’re going to fall off but you won’t…… I hope.

Yup we’re definitely in the countryside now.

Half hour of jungle trekking on an elephant passed, and the ride was over, much to my relief! It was an interesting experience and everything, but there were wayyyy too many insects and all that and I was freaking out big time.

Sam feeding the 35 year old elephant who worked hard for us…

Up next – ATV ride!!!

I’ve been hearing so much about ATV and I really wanted to try it out!

Basically it’s like a mini monster truck vehicle thingy and you ride through very rocky and muddy terrains!

They say it’s safe, but it’s actually really dangerous if you don’t know how to go up and down slopes properly and such.

I insisted on wearing a raincoat because I didn’t wanna be muddy all over LOL!

I had a hard time understanding the thai tour guide’s instructions, so I didn’t know how to brake properly and when they stopped in front of me my vehicle went up his in the middle of the road hahahaha.

You need quite a bit of arm strength to grip the handles firmly, so when you go on rocky terrains you don’t lose control and go flying onto rocks and mud.

HAHAHAHA WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!

That’s me, first time riding ATV, wearing a stupid raincoat with an awkward mixture of a half smile and frown on my face.

Part of me was going “WEEEE COOL” and another part was “YUCK, WALAO, WTF YOU DOING JESS”

I got stuck in a watery muddy hole and instead of pushing the vehicle out, I accelerated and ended up having a generous amount of mud and elephant poo on myself. Fanfuckingtastic.

HAHAHAH classic.

Just classic.

Never again will you catch me with that expression on my face.. and I love how you can see Sam carrying my hot pink Victoria’s Secret tote in the background xD

At this point I looked to my left and there was this cow or something and it just grazed grass and stared at me while I panic and struggle, obviously quite amused at this strange creature that was me.

Sam actually smiling and looking alot more confident than me

When I reached this part, I cringed and went “NOOOOoooooOoooooo…”

Yup, don’t mind me everyone.

I’m just minding my own business, just cruising along and just…

Just..

Just getting stuck once again, like a retard. LOL.

After riding for about 15 minutes, I started to get the hang of it and a little more confident….

Yeah now act haolian to make up for embarrassing picture before lolol.

DaNang cupcakes and tea + Shiberty cookies and milk!! (“v”)

The first few of their many more adventures together to come

I know the paths look relatively smooth in these pictures, but don’t let them fool you! They were only for photo taking purposes, the real thing was super muddy and bumpy and some slopes were super steep, especially when we went into the jungle

Wow… sexy legs

DAMN SICK!!!!!

I think half of that was elephant poo poo!!!!!!!!@@@@@@1111

Everytime some of it got onto my legs, a little part of me died inside.

We rode into the jungle, where they took to us this neat little waterfall place!

We washed our feet (thank goodness) and the boys decided to take a little dip!

Our tour guides were really friendly and nice, most of them were :)

Thailand is such a nice place to visit because most of their people are so gracious, you really can’t help but smile back when a stranger smiles at you.

I love it when a shop owner says “thank you” and smiles when I walk out of their shop without buying anything instead of scowling at me.

I love a spontaneous holiday and not knowing what to expect :)

Makes it all that much more exciting!

Awwww :’)

Finally, we took a rather slow drive back, passing by their little shops and houses and it was fun waving to all the friendly locals! It was my favourite part of the day. Relaxing and fun.

Felt like just for one moment, I was part of their little town.

.

.
.
.

This brings us to the end of my phuket adventures! There are other parts of the trip I would blog about, but I don’t have time, so maybe not afterall.

This was a very special and intimate trip for me, but some things you’d rather keep to yourself.

I’m going to pick Sam from the airport very soon,

omg omg omg omg omg

SO MAD HAPPY HE’S HERE!!!!!!

Just took this picture cuz I still have a bit of time to kill.

He says he has a very pleasant surprise present waiting for me and I’m dying to know what it is :D

Sorry for not blogging the past few days, Bangkok was too hectic! Life has been a crazy whirlwind recently.

Actually, that’s kinda how it’s always been… hmmm

Anyway enough of that!!

Gonna go pick him up now, bye bye bye bye bye bye bye!!!!!!

disney princess is off to bangkok

“Yeah you are more beautiful than Belle, you are more graceful than Cinderalla and you are more enchanting than Ariel…

…The great part is you dont need to have me killed so you can admit you love me, you can stay out after 12 and you dont have half a fish body.”

.
.
.

:’))))))))))

Had a shit end to my day just now but I came home, cried and talked to him and I feel soooo much better now. Somehow we ended up listening to our fav disney songs the whole night which cheered me up like ALOT :)

I feel incredibly blessed to have someone as wonderful as him to love me this much.

I think we have a blissful relationship despite the fact that we live in separate countries that are oceans apart.

Can’t wait to re-watch all of the Disney classics with him again and I definitely definitely can’t wait to go to Disneyland together!!!

Ok gotta go pack my stuff for the Bangkok trip now, byeeeeeeeeee. When I come back from my BKK trip he’ll be in Singapore the next day, omg love!

Hardcore shopping and eating for the next 5 days! Hope I find many many pretty & cheap stuff!!!!

P.S – I changed my blogskin but I changed it back since there was a problem with the archive and I don’t have time to fix it just yet, super busy recently and I won’t be blogging veryy much for the next 2 weeks since Sam will be here!

jess and sam and phuket part 2

I half-screamed when we were canoe-ing below the bats and suddenly I felt something fall on me.

I was like “WTF WAS THAT?!?!” and Sam kept on saying, “I hope that was water… I REALLY hope that was water.”

And then…

And then…………..

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

And then actually nothing happened la.

I thought it was bat poop / pee, but it turned out to be water.. Just wanted to keep you guys in suspense only LOL.

We continued to canoe through the water cave, sometimes going dangerously near sharp rocks or other canoes and I really didn’t want to fall into the water which would most likely be filled with bat poop and pee and many other gross things.

The cool thing about caves is how amazingly detailed and mysterious the interior looks, ambience completed with bats sleeping above your head and trailing echoes and all

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Finally, we canoe out of the cave and into the open!

The mouth of the cave was crazily small, possibly cause we had higher tide that day.. had to bend really low, otherwise.. I leave the outcome to your imagination.

Passed by a lot of monkeys! So cute! :D

Who knew?

One day we’d be playing L4D as complete strangers sitting on their asses in front of their computers in Singapore & Melbourne, but one fine day barely a few months later, we’d be canoeing down some lagoon in Thailand together…

Impressive cliffs that looked like they popped right out from my Geography textbook from high school

More landscape to behold and a whole family of canoes

Our canoe person then decided to row us towards a patch of mangroves which I personally didn’t find too interesting. What’s so interesting about some ugly roots that stick out of the water and muddy waters?

Then we went really really close and Sam went like, “Ooo look there’s a fish!”

And I was like, “Where?! Omg yuck mudskippers are so ugly!”

And he was like, “Wow you actually know what they are?”

…..Wtf???

Mangrovesss

More random pics of us canoe-ing!

The oar was surprisingly light, but it’s a lot harder to steer a canoe than it looks!

Relaxing and fun :)

He actually climbed onto the mangroves just to take pictures for us! Dedication..

Our canoe person was very enthusiastic in showing us around and taking pictures for us…

All of our tour guides were so friendly and nice :) I’ve noticed that Thais are mostly very good-willed and well-mannered people!

We canoed around for awhile more, taking in all of nature’s sights and sounds…

And about this time my casio cam died on me!!! Wtf!!

I was upset cuz I thought I couldn’t capture pictures for memories keepsake for the rest of the day, but thankfully I brought my Canon e1 with me and because it runs on AA batteries, all I did was buy some new batts on the island and job’s done! YAY!

Got back onto the boat, had buffet lunch on board (surprisingly good!) and set our to sea as our next destination was James Bond Islands.

Wtf right hahaha. Apparently some James Bond movie was filmed on this island which made it famous, but I forgot the title.

Tourists much!!!!

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

I’m a tourist too ^.^

But there wasn’t much interesting on the island at all, besides the fact that it was commercialized to the max even though there was so little land.

Many many stalls selling the same seashells, necklaces etc all trying to rip us off! That I don’t mind too much because sometimes I try to rip them off too :P

What really bothered me was how this old lady grabbed my hand when I refused to buy her merchandise. I politely rejected her and thought she was being too touchy, so I pulled my hand away and she grabbed even harder and I got scared and told Sam that her grip was starting to hurt and to tell her to let go and finally she did.

The old woman looked so scary and evil, she totally reminded me of the witch from Drag Me To Hell and I was half-hoping she wasn’t muttering a curse under her breath D:

I think Thailand is a great place to visit with great people, but be very wary of people desperately trying to earn money (e.g suit sellers, tuk tuk drivers, stall owners etc)

Some of them can be super difficult to handle!

First of our many vacations together to come!

Our next one? He promised to take me to Disneyland in Florida, OMG!

How much do I love my boyfriend?

Like a lot!!!!

He’ll do anything to make me happy :’) And the happiest girl on earth I am, because of him.

I miss that place sooo much, I’ve been dying to go back for years now. It’s going to be so much fun and we’ll most likely go this year’s end, like December? CAN’T WAIT!

We also talked about going to Alaska lol!!!

Yay I love holidays and traveling!!! And going on holiday with Sam is super awesome, because he’s always game and up for anything plus takes great care of me!

:)

:)))))

:’)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

So refreshing from the concrete jungle that is Singapore

Me and some rock… You can never have too many holiday photos!!

Another rock thingy with god knows what written on the wall

After lazing around on the sandy beach for a little, it’s time to head back to the boat!

Our next destination was some island that apparently had really clear water that was good for swimming…

In the end we canoe-d instead of swimming because it really wasn’t that clean and there were too many water striders on the surface on the water which really creeped me out.

Dirt I can stand, but definitely not insects!! Filthy little things.

Quite a long time to get back, like an hour or something but we took more lovey dovey photos…

Probably the reason why everyone thought we were on our honeymoon:

The pretty pearl set that Sam got for me… I love pearls!

I told him not to buy it at first because it was way overpriced, but he said “As long as you’ll wear it, then it’s well worth it… These people also need to make a living somehow.”

Sigh :’)

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

After this, we walked out to the front of the boat where we just sat down in silence.

No better way to end the day than having the wind in your hair while racing across open seas, with golden sun rays shining upon your face as sunset begins…

With Sam beside me :)

Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end and we were back @ the pier a little too soon, despite a whole long day of activities.

Candid.. was brushing my hair back and he snapped and it looks like I’m doing some weird model pose LOL

Us and our canoe person, his name is King Kong! (or that’s what they call him anyway)

I think it’s pretty cool working in the tourism industry where you get to interact with tourists and bring them around - it’s nice to know you played a part in making someone’s holiday as special as it was.

Took the van back to our cosy little resort….

We intended to shower immediately when we got back, but since our room and the beach was merely a few steps away,

we couldn’t resist this:

No pictures after this because we jumped into the water together… Couldn’t stop smiling and shrieking / giggling like a school girl :)

I’ve never felt so happy and carefree in my life.

Sam really is the most amazing guy I’ve ever met, if only I could express myself and let the people around me know just how crazily good he is to me. But yeah I really suck at putting feelings and experiences into words sometimes.

Or maybe words just don’t suffice this time, because this is so much more.

I really really really really really really really x infinity miss my cupcake!

Only one (torturously long) week more before he’s in Singapore again to celebrate my birthday with me. Can’t waittttttttttttt!
