prof loh

It is 3am.

I googled my dad’s name for fun.

And when I started reading the results, I couldn’t help but feel so emotional.

At first the results and pages that came out were the normal medical pages about Professor Loh..

But as I read on, I read several blog entries of my dad’s students and some other people who knew and have met my dad, aka Prof Loh.

And they talk about the great times they spent with him, how they have enlightened him, and how “amazingly smart” he is (as I quote a girl’s blog entry)

I just couldn’t help but feel sad.

I’m sad that I never got to know my father like how these people knew him.

Somehow, dad just never struck me as a man who is “Amazingly smart”

I mean, I’ve always known that my dad is a man of great achievement, having received the roll of honour for his dentistry profession and contributon and stuff but…

That’s basically just as much as anyone who googles his name would know.

Sometimes, I’m ashamed to admit I even forget that I have a dad at all. I’m just so used to not having him in my life. Pretending has a huge role to play.

I play pretense so well, I find it hard to tell what’s real anymore.

I fail to remember I have a dad who is so important to the dentistry faculty. Someone that many students look up to.

His students spend everyday of their course with him, yet the amount of time they spend with him is probably more than what his own daughter ever will.

Having a dad like that is just harder.

When people go like, “Oh! So your dad is Prof.Loh blahblahblah…”

They start talking about him, golly, they sound as though they know him better than I do.

And you know what?

They probably do.

Things aren’t easy to mend now, he’s always so busy, flying all over the world… And people just don’t understand that some families remain broken no matter how hard you try to piece them back together.

I regret to know I didn’t have the chance to grow up being scolded by my dad. I didn’t have a chance to be pampered and loved by my dad. I didn’t have a chance to be picked up everyday from school by my dad.

I didn’t have a chance to get boyfriends chased away by my dad.

I didn’t have a chance with my dad.

I’m grown to be happy and contented with everything in my life, every shortcoming I’ve tried to turn into a blessing.. But.. just this…

Just this one thing, that I know nothing could ever replace. Something that’s so important to me.

Something that I know can never be mine.

Something so near, yet so far.

Everyone was born with one.

But not everyone gets to live with one.

Why do things have to be this way? Should I blame mum, or dad?

I think both of them are to blame.

However, I know that none of them wanted things to be this way.

And neither do I.

But I feel like I had nothing to do with it. I was so innocent.

When they said the child is the real victim of a broken marriage, damn, they were right.

I try to spend more time with him, but I don’t know why it just doesn’t work.

It’s really hard to explain, but the emptiness is irreplaceable and the emptiness he left behind will never go away.

So many years and so many precious moments I’ve missed out on… Why does it have to be so hard?

I love Chanel and branded stuff but in my heart I’m just a simple girl who wants the best things in life.

Best things which means family. The most important people in my life. The people who love me most and whom I lost most in return.

But god just couldn’t give me the only thing that was ever important me.

He took it all away.

Wait, what am I saying? I never really believed in such a thing as god, anyway.

I’m arranging a meet up with him soon. Like I always do, once in awhile. But going for lunch, KBOX, etc… it’s just different from the everyday activities you spend with your dad.

All I really want is to wake up one day to see my dad sipping coffee reading the newspaper in the living room and ask me whether I’ve done my homework.

That’s all I’m asking for… Why is it so hard?

Why does it have to be so unfair?

I would give anything to make up for all the time I’ve missed with him.

I’m sure he feels just as bad as I do.

I treasure every family dinner and every family outing I have with my family.

But 3 is just an odd number. It used to be 4.

When dad is around, mum isn’t.

When mum is around, dad isn’t.

The last time they were around together? They were in court.

Nobody said it was easy, but no one ever said it would be this hard..

Someone make the tears stop falling.

Once the tears stop falling like they are now, I know I’ll be fine again…

I’ll be back to my everyday life. Back to living life without him, back to pretending I don’t miss him and that I’m okay anyway.

16 years I’ve held it all together but a night like this is begging to pull me apart.

.

.

.

Do you have a dad? Well…

I hope this post will let other people with complete families out there to appreciate what they have.

Tell them that you love them today.

xoxo,
Jess

PULAU BESAR!!! part 3

And just where exactly did me and James go after our lil afternoon nap?

Since we were feeling so bloody lethargic and sian,

…..we decided to freshen up by taking a DIP IN THE POOL!!!!

The pool was a few metres away from our room. Everything was beautifully designed, so very resort-ish feel!

Photobucket

See what I mean?

And it was beautiful… to swim in the middle of what-seemed-to-be-wilderness.

Or rather, nature.

Photobucket

While swimming, I look up and see the vast clear blue sky,

I look around and I see a beautiful resort and MOUNTAINS / JUNGLE!!!

Awesome place to swim.

Have you swam beside a jungle/mountain before?!?

Photobucket

As we were in the pool, there were a few swallows that kept flying around and dipping in the pool as well. Hehehe, extremely cute!

Photobucket

Jacuzzi feature :)

We were just getting used to the cold temperature of the pool water when to our utter horror,

we realized that there were MANY mosquitoes around the pool area.

!!!!!!!#%%#%%%@

James kept smacking my back and I saw dead mosquitoes falling off me! Ewwww!

I tell you, Pulau Besar is “MOSQUITO HAVEN”

….We had manyyyyyy swollen mosquito bites, so we swam away and the other side of the pool had MANY DEAD FLOATING INSECTS.

Gross.

At first it looked so beautiful, now it was just disgusting LOL.

.

.

.

So me and James ditched the pool and went for our dinner instead as dusk was approaching!

Photobucket

.

.

.

But before we went to the reception, we went to check out the sunset view first…

To my utter disappoint, it was way too cloudy and there was not much orange in the sky.

It still was a sight to behold though!

Photobucket

I think I make a great photographer. But this photo is so blur, someone get me a DLSR!! LOL

Photobucket

James talking to the manager, Jus! Talking about what, I forgot.. About the island I think :)

Photobucket

Beautiful island, living everyday without worries, I sure could get used to living like this…

Photobucket

He’s happy :)

Photobucket

AND I’M HAPPY TOO! (“v”)

Happy happy day.

.

.

.

Then off for DINNER!!!

After ordering our dinner at the reception, James started chatting with the malay bell boy at the counter..

He doesn’t speak much English and we don’t speak much Melayu so we were like cats and dogs trying to communicate.

James started to tell him about the millipede-like creature in our room, and the malay boy was damn cute hahaha all his expressions were very animated.

The malay boy said that there are dangerous creatures at Pulau Besar sometimes.

Me and James were like, WTF?!?! What sort of “DANGEROUS” creatures?

James started doing alot of hand actions as the malay boy didn’t understand English… James wanted to ask if there were snakes here.

So James did this:

(obviously thats not James hand, thats some weird ugly fat hairy hand picture I got off from Google)

HAHAHAHA!
And he started doing the snake hissing sound. It was sooo funny watching both of them doing ridiculous actions together.

And you know WTF the guy said?

They said sometimes

snakes drop down from your room’s rooftop!!!

Ultimate WTF-ness.

He also said there were…. ghosts. >:( :( :(

And James asked if there was KING KONG in the jungle behind our resort, so you can imagine the sort of actions they were doing…. Totally hilarious.

After chitter chatter, our mouthwatering food arrived! Yipeeeee.

Photobucket

I made sure I applied A HELL LOT OF INSECT REPELLENT. So much that my legs became greasy and shiny with it. LOL

I curse any insect that comes near me to DIE!!!!!

Photobucket

And then we all sat down here for dinner!

Me, James, Jus, and the French couple.

It was really nice to have everyone sit around one big table, sharing asian cuisine and talking about different cultures of the world.

I really really enjoyed the nights I had dinner there, not only for the good food but for the good time I had as well!

The french couple told us about Tioman and how it wasn’t as quiet and beautiful as Pulau Besar..

Oooh, looks like we made a wise choice!

Sorry, I didn’t take any pictures during dinner time as I thought it wasn’t very polite to be snapping away when others are around, they may not like it.

I’m ok to do it around friends, but these people might think I’m crazy! They’ve no idea I’m a blogger.

And I think only bloggers would be so ridiculous as to always take pictures of food.

I think some bloggers are so darn dumb loh, keep taking pictures of their sushi bento set or whatever normal food they had that day.

Aiyah, not as though we have never seen kang kong or crabs before right?!? Pshhh… If it’s something unique or fine dining, I can understand, but wtf? Sushi?

Anyways.

After the hearty meal and good LONGGG talks, we got up to play darts!!! They were all drinking beer and talking, I’m not into liquor so I went to throw some darts with baby :)

Photobucket

James flirting with french chick. HAHA

Photobucket

Weee picture taking!

Photobucket

The apple of my eye!

.

.

.

And then it was BED TIME!!!!!

Me and James went back to shower first.

When we were in the bathroom, he killed so many damn mosquitoes LOL.

He was like, “THERE’S ANOTHER ONE!!!!” then *SMACK*, one mosquito down.

Omg, my brave brave brave mosquito killer of a boyfriend. I love you!

He killed about 8 mosquitoes within ONE shower duration.

Next time your house got mosquito, leave a comment ok? I’ll get James to handle it for you, charges do apply =P

And then we went to SLEEEEEP on our **CLEAN BED**

It was a good sleep.

.

.

.

All until I woke up in the middle of night, feeling ITCHY AS HELL!

#^I$@*%$@#^I$@*%$@#^I$@*%$@#^I$@*%$@$&(
amp;(
amp;(

I HAD MOSQUITO BITES ALL OVER ME!!!!!!!

And the mosquito FUCKING CLEVER OK.

You know where that bastard bit me?

RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF MY

LEFT EYE!!!!!!!!!

Omg, please lah, of all places,

like my boobs or my stomach, WHY MY EYE?!????

Damn itchy but cannot scratch eye lah! Later my eyeballs drop out how?

I had more on my legs, hands, back, neck, face, basically everywhere lah.

Blah.

James had tons of them too.

You know what’s even funnier?

I had a bite on my LEFT eye, James had a bite on his LEFT eye too!

So we looked like IDIOTS with MATCHING SWOLLEN EYES the next day.

What a cruel joke god played on us.. First, matching eye spectacles, then matching eye goggles,

and now matching EYE SWELLS?

Thank you ah. -_____-

.

.

.

Nevertheless, nothing would stop us from enjoying ourselves despite having 2042935974 mosquito bites all over our body.

Went for breakfast in the morning,

another brand new wonderful day!!

Once again, I just have to rant about how amazing it is…

To wake up in your boyfriend’s arms, to walk a few meters our of your resort room to get to the breakfast table where you are immediately served

And this is what you see

Photobucket

Our view from our breakfast table :)

Feeling the sea breeze in your hair, staring into your lovers eyes and gulping down delicious scrambled eggs, sausages and toasted bread…

.

.

.

While eating breakfast, I started feeding a cat and another cat wanted some food so it came near and the first cat got angry so we watched about 5 cats fighting.

Super funny :)

One was just a kitten and it kena bully!

When the big cat pounced on it, it got scared shitless and immediately lay down on the floor trying to look as cute, innocent and harmless as possible as though to tell its enemy,

“OMG! I’M JUST A CUTE LITTLE MEOW. I mean no harm, I’m harmless, see?! DON’T HURT ME!!!!!”

HAHAHAA me and James were fairly entertained :)

The cat even followed us back to our room after breakfast!

Well, following us won’t do you any good for now kitty kitty…

For we’re going somewhere you could never follow us to!

Whats the plan for me and James next?!?!?!

Photobucket

Uhhuh, we were going SNORKELING!!!!

Photobucket

Hahahahha we look so ridiculous that it’s cute.

.

.

.

Headed to the beach and goshhhhh yes it was so beautiful :)

The sand wasn’t extremely clean but still good enough.

Photobucket

Look at the sky, it’s so beautiful in this photo.

I wish James could take such nice pictures for me. LOL~ but he’s awful at taking pics :P

But honestly, I love the picture above, it has this “I’m alone in the world” feeling

…And that’s how it felt.

When we had the beautiful sky, sand and sun all to ourselves that day, it felt as though the world belonged to us.

Photobucket

I am loving this picture as well :)

TELL ME THIS IDEA IS TOTALLY ORIGINAL!!! HAHAHAHAHA.

It’s so much fun to take “artistic” shots and then editing them afterwards!

I wish I had time to edit all the other photos! But I don’t :(

So just with some nice few edited ones, k?!

Photobucket

Another attempt at arty farty.. Me like this piccy very much too!

The sand is pretty clean but the water is EVEN CLEANER!

I loved loved loved the water even though it was FREEZING :)

Sorry, but my camera is apparently not waterproof so no pictures for our snorkeling adventure, hehehe.

“Did you see fishes?!”

OF COURSE WE DID!!!!! If not snorkel for what?

It was fun swimming with them even though they are pretty shy. I guess its because we were in shallow water.

Me and James aren’t good swimmers so we didn’t dare to swim too far off from the coast…

It was really beautiful though, being able to “breathe” underwater with our snorkel masks on.

Holding James’ hand and swimming along the beach checking out the beautiful underwater world was amazing!!!!!!!!

But theres like something with my snorkel mask or something cuz water kept seeping into my mask :(

AND the thing we’re supposed to bite onto to breathe kept poking into my gums and my mouth which was really pain.

But snorkeling was a fantastic experience, you guys should definitely try it out someday in a beautiful island!

Not singapore though, try going snorkeling in SG and all you’d see on the seabed = empty bottles and such. HAHAHA.

After awhile I got kinda fed up and I started picking up pretty sea shells from the sea bed. LOL.

I kept bending down to pick up sea shell, which explains my GROSS TAN LINES ON MY ASS!!!!!!

One part of my ass is angmoh, another part is indian. Gross.

Obviously my the more private part of my ass has never seen daylight before so its very very fair, then the other one was exposed to EXTREMELY strong sunlight (without sunblock) for like 4 hours?

So chao tah lor :(

So stupid! Somehow when I was applying sunblock, applying some on my ass didn’t cross my mind.

James joined me in picking sea shells and thats how we spent our whole afternoon! We were wearing life jackets. ROFL.

It was fucking fun to just cling onto each other and float around aimlessly like a ball in the sea!!!!

We picked up some very nice seashells together!!!! Of course I brought them home :)

Am going to paint some of them when I have time in the future. I felt kinda bad to pick seashells though, I feel it’s the same as literring in a forest.

But we didn’t pick ALOT la, just a few prettayyyeee ones for keeps sake!

And then we went for lunch.

Another awesome lunch of course, then went back to our room for a shower and another afternoon nap hahaha :D

.

.

.

.

And about 5:30, Jus took me and the french couple out for a walk!

Photobucket Image Hosting

He wanted to take us to the place where they filmed Survivor Euro.

Photobucket Image Hosting

But oh nooooo the weather wouldn’t co-operate :(

Photobucket Image Hosting

Walking walking nearer nearer into the jungle..

.

.

.

..

…..

And then it started to POUR -________-

Needless to say we were pretty much drenched. It was very disgusting cus it was muddy and super dirty but James and the french couple were loving it!

Agh.

They are NATURE PEOPLE, I AM NOT.

I would much rather take a walk in Vegas. Hmph.

Anyway, lots of HUGE ASS GIGANTIC KING KONG MOSQUITOES attacked us again. BAHHHH.

5 fresh new bites. Congratulations, Jessica!

Soon you will the world’s Guinness Record Holder for the “unlucky bitch with the most mosquito bites on her body”

Photobucket Image Hosting

Ta-dah!!! Some fancy ruined plane they made for Survivor.

Jus was explaining all about how it was like when the Survivor crew was filming here,

but I totally wasn’t listening because I was concentrating on freaking out when every 3 seconds a new insect landed on me.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Another set for Survivor. Angkor Wat lookalike, apparently.

Hastily took more photos before jumping around shouting cuz I was almost on the verge of tears.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Darling with me at fake temple.

See, everytime take photo I look damn happy de right?! See my sian face in this.

And I have no idea whats that shiny line in the middle of James. =x

Photobucket Image Hosting

He’s a jungle guy.

Photobucket Image Hosting

I was FUCKING HUNGRY, DRENCHED IN RAIN WATER, COVERED WITH DIRT, MUD AND INSECTS + MOSQUITOES,

AND they were still forcing me to trek more into the jungle-like area :(

They were seriously considering to go INTO the jungle to see the deers and probably king kong and shit, but I had enough and told them I’m going back.

They obliged and sent me back…

But not before showing us several other beautiful islands in viewing distance! And coral reefs, rocks, blahblahblah I forgot.

And that’s about it!

I ran back, played darts, went back to the room to shower, had another sumptuous dinner and more long chats with Jus and the French couple.

And then Jus showed us the partayyyy held at Pulau Besar when they finished filiming Survivor there… Woah they sure know how to party!

Was feeling tired and so James brought me back to the room for a good night’s rest.

Something was bothering me that night, and I cried pretty badly despite the fact that I was having a good time and that I was on a getaway with my baby.

But after he hugged me tightly, my sobs became softer and I don’t remember anything after that.

I fell asleep.

That issue is no longer bothering me now though. I realized that people change and sometimes we just have to let them go.

People walk in and out of your lives, the most important thing is who’s left footprints in your heart..

I’ll treasure the time we spent together :)

I finally feel like my life is heading in the right direction.

I know how to think positively now, I reason things out and I’m basically a happy girl.

Even if I feel upset, I get over it after awhile. I pick myself up when I fall down.

I’m starting to love life, starting to really LIVE LIFE.

It’s all good.

Woke up the next morning, to find that James has packed all my stuff for me!

Even though he was complaining alot, cos the previous night I was too tired to pack anything and he had to do everything all by himself.

But even though hes soooo sweet, he sucks at packing stuff cus he didn’t pack one one of my lingerie and my earpiece!

Omg damn sad la.

That earpiece means alot to me, cuz its damn expensive la! 70 bucks for a fucking earpiece ok.

The sound quality is PERFECT, the best I’ve ever heard and it’s very comfortable AND,

James bought for me de lehhhhhhhh :(

Nvm, he said he’d bring me to buy another one on Sunday…

We had another great breakfast and what I’ll miss the most about the island besides the beautiful view of the sky and the clear blue water,

I’ll miss waking up in the morning without a care in the world.

All I cared about was having fun. And the place was so quiet and lovely, as compared to Singapore.

Jus was right, the best thing about Pulau Besar is not some fancy activity like Jet Skiing.

But it was to enjoy the beautiful quiet island for what it is.

Soon we had to check out…

I won’t forget Jus and the French couple, whom we had lovely long conversations and lots of interaction with!

Even though it was just a few days, I’ve grown to take a deep liking towards all of them because they are such genuinely nice people who took care of me and that really touched my heart.

When I had a little cut, they rushed back to their room just to get a plaster for me.

When I had a mosquito bite, they’d quickly take out insect bite creams and insect repellent for me.

I love meeting nice strangers, it tells you that not everybody in this world is as superficial as you think they are.

I like to call them “beautiful strangers”

And of course,

my heartfelt thanks to my dearest boyfriend of 2 years for treating me like a princess through this trip,

taking real good care of me and protecting me,

my lover, whom I’d live and die for.

.
.
.

It was the most wonderful 2 year anniversary celebration ever.

Just you, me, and 1000 mosquitoes. =P

If you are reading this, have I told you lately that I love you?

These made my stay at Pulau Besar as great as it was.

An experience I’d never forget, something too beautiful to be put into words.

Thank you to these people, wherever you are right now, cus I know I’d probably never see you in my life again…

Photobucket Image Hosting

Goodbyes are always hard…

Photobucket Image Hosting

I’ll miss the calmness of this place. The serenity that Singapore needs more of.

The contentment that deep happiness brings which my life needs more of.

Photobucket Image Hosting

(that was a top but my shorts are too short to be seen)

Even though I hated the insects, the dirt and the rough nature lifestyle at first and complained non-stop…

I grew to love this island. It is very endearing.

And even the little cat that followed me around just to get food under my table :)

Photobucket Image Hosting

Now I kinda miss smacking king kong mosquitoes and applying insect repellent all over my body. Hahahaha.

Just kidding. That part I wouldn’t miss so much.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Will I ever be back on this paradise on earth again?

I can’t help but wonder.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Another extremely beautiful experience and memory added to my life.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Perhaps I’ll be back here once more when life gets too stressful…

I know where to find my getaway.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Photobucket Image Hosting

Perhaps…

Someday.

PULAU BESAR!!! part 2

Hey Y’all, Avril’s concert was a FKING BLAST I WENT CRAZY AND I HAD SO MUCH FUN OMGOMG.

I felt damn cool to wear her previous tour T-shirt cuz no one else had it :)

I’m the most hardcore fan of all man!!!! U OTHER “FANS” CAN KISS MY

Ok anyway I would love to post about it but I have way too many posts to complete. I still havent finished with Pulau Besar trip yet, I have one more overdue creative make up shoot to post about, and the Avril concert and other stuff! So stay tuned alrighty. Much love.

————————————

I hear the splashing of gentle waves as they slide up and down the seashore..

I hear the swaying of tall coconut trees as they dance about in the wind.

I hear the beautiful language of local people welcoming us onto the island.

.
.
.

Even though I did not understand a single word they said, anything foreign can sound heartwarming when accompanied with a genuine smile…

Photobucket

I stood up, grabbed James hand as he supported me so that I wouldn’t fall off the rocking speedboat.

I looked at the island with wide open eager and curious eyes.

I was ready for everything this island had in store with me! (almost EVERYTHING, except for the ghastly thing I found in my room… more later on)

Woohoo, am gonna take it all in baby. Sun, sand, coconut trees, mosquitoes and all.

Photobucket

This was it.
I am at my getaway.

I was officially stepping on PULAU BESAR GROUND. Hehehe.

(or rather, Pulau Besar’s plank/bridge for this matter)

What’s so different about this place?

Well, to tell you the truth…….

.

.

.

.

The air at Pulau Besar is fresher.

LOL.

Eyyyyy, I am totally serious okay! Because it is a MARINE PARK.

The difference between places such as Tioman and Langkawai is that Pulau Besar is extremely un-commercialized (probably why nobody has heard of it before)

And no “motorized” activity is allowed few kilometres within the island except for speedboats.

Which also meant no JET-SKIING for me!!!!! >:(

Omggsshh was so disappointed. But nvm. Fresh air ma! Time to relax…

There’s just this mesmerizing enchantment that the island has, which automatically gives you a very “serene” feeling. It’s like stepping into paradise :)

They call Pulau Besar the Paradise on Earth anyway.

.

.

.

…”Was the water clear?”

.
.
.

OF COURSE!!! Told you it was not commercialized already ma.

Photobucket

Gosh!!!! Look at how blue it is =)

And and, look at the amount of fishiiiiiiiies. LOL.

I know I said I wanted to swim with fishes, but erm…

… this was not really what I was expecting.

“HIIII!

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US TAKE A PICTURE?

THANK YOUUUU!”

- my most common used line recently.

Photobucket

Those are definitely genuine smiles.

Smiles of two lovebirds arriving at their lovenest! LOL

.

.

.

Remember the big-sized indian guy James made fun of for being fat in the speedboat?

Well, the “big indian guy” turned out to be our RESORT’S MANAGER / IN-CHARGE….

…..KUA KUA KUA.

Luckily he was ssoooo super friendly and was jsut enthusiastic as me in taking pictures. LOL.

I was like, “must take many pictures!!! can take one more for us?”

And he was like,

“of course! take more take more, then go back singapore must show all your friends ah.

promote my island”

HAHAHA :)

Photobucket

You’d expect this to be a romantic back-view picture of me and James hand-in-hand,

but hes walking beside the guy known as Jus. Hehehe.

As we walked across the bridge and onto the island itself, we passed by small little kampung / atap houses…

And to my delight, Pulau Besar was EXACTLY like what it seemed in pictures that I googled :)

More beautiful, if that was possible. Breathtaking.

Photobucket

It’s just a tree and some sand, but where will you find such serenity in Singapore?

Photobucket

I know it sounds dramatic,

but at that point of time I felt so dizzy with happiness and lighthearted that I teared when I saw this….

Thats when I snapped this picture.

Photobucket

As we were chatting with Jus and walking towards our resort, we walked past this spot which had this volleyball net.

That “spot” was our official lunch & breakfast lunch view for the next few days :)

.

.

.

“WE ARE HERE!”
, Jus proclaims.

Yipeee!!!!!

Hello there,

Photobucket
(aww isnt this picture just precious?)

….. A S E A N I A R E S O R T ! ! !

Home to us, on the island of Pulau Besar.

Where our fond memories are.

Photobucket

IDK, random picture.

Walked in… and we were told to take our shoes off whenever we wanna step onto the reception area.

I hate being barefooted so I was really annoyed at first, but after awhile I got used to it and it was really fun jumping around barefooted! Lol.

Very kampung la.

Photobucket

This is what you see from the reception counter. Basically the entrance

Jus introduced us to the staff there. There was this fat malay lady (as Jus calls her) and her name was WATI. He told us Wati would take care of us.

……You know what was so bloody awesome about the place?

.
.
.
.

THE WHOLE BLOODY RESORT

ONLY HAD

****** TWO ****** COUPLES (aka 4 ppl la)

STAYING IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111@@@@@

OmfgwtfBBQ! And we happened to be one of the 2 couples of course!

4 lovebirds having the whole beautiful island to themselves.

Isn’t that just wonderful? We came at a fantastic time.

I was so goddamn excited, I doubt I’d ever get to experience such a genuine personal encounter with a beautiful island like this again.

And because we were the only guests there plus another French couple, we were treated like royalty :)

ANYTIME we wanted to eat, all we had to do was walk over to the counter…

and oooh boy, trust me the food was DAMN BLOODY GOooOOoooOooooooooOD.

Omg I’m salivating just thinking about it!!!

I was expecting bad cheapo food since the whole package was very cheap.

We went by Bagus Holiday and only paid $250 for each person,

$250 includes TWO WAY TRANSPORT, 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS STAY AT BEACH RESORT, 3 sumptuous meals a day.

Cheap or what? VALUE FOR MONEY, I SAY!!!!

….Jessica is one happy girl.

You must be wondering why only 4 guests? Well apparently it was off-peak season and before we came, hundred people just left! Wooohoo.

It is usually pretty packed, since there’s SURVIVOR filming going on here and all :)

Oh yeah I havent mentioned this place was used to film Survivor right? More on that later….

.

.

.

Anyway, everybody was very genuine and nice there, it was almost better than home hehehe :P

We were famished so we went back to our room to check in before lunch is served!

Photobucket

…”How was the resort like?”

Well, I didn’t like it at first cos it was VERY “nature”-ish.

Y’know what I mean? Wooden houses, hammocks, lots of trees, etc etc…

I remember with every step I took, I had sand getting into my shoe.. Hahaha every few steps we took I had to shake shand off from my shoe.

But the longer time I spent on Pulau Besar, the more I had to love it.

If only you were there, you’d knew why too…

Photobucket

Near to the reception but on our way to our room!

….. Almost There…..

Photobucket

There was this random Tiger Beer table in the middle of nowhere. LOL

And finally…

OUR HOME!!! Room 504.

Looks cosy, eh?

I really miss Pulau Besar.
Awwww.

Photobucket

Aww look, we even had our own little pretty garden on the front of our home in Pulau Besar! Hehehehe.

We rushed in cos we could hear our stomachs grumbling loudly…

James unpacked some stuff.

Omg he’s such a darling,

he does all the packing and unpacking and cleaning and hanging clothes and stuff that mothers and maids would do!

He takes such good care of me even though sometimes hes like the biggest asshole on earth :)

Photobucket

Camwhoring while he was washing up. Lalalala.

Photobucket

Our twin beds?! Cheebong.

The fat lady at Bagus Holiday told us we’d get a QUEEN SIZED BED!!!

….Not 2 separate beds.

WE SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED FOR IT. Bah.

Bagus Holiday is very cheap and pretty good ($250 leh! shiok lor) but NEVER LOOK FOR THE FAT MALAY LADY.

She’s a cheater and liar!

She act nice only lor. Shall not go into detail, trust Bagus Holidauy for their cheap prices but don’t trust the agents. Ask everything clearly first ah~

Most of the staff there are fat malay ladies, so to be safe

AVOID THE

****FATTEST ONE THERE!!!!!!!!

Anyway the 2 beds came in useful in some ways lah.

At home, my bed has like a “clean corner” and “THE dirty corner”

The dirty corner at home is basically the bottom part of my bed, where my feets supposed to be.

Feet also dirty what, so when I’m dirty and I lie there also no difference what?!

Its really cool cos I can come home from school being disgustingly dirty and just lie on my dirty corner of my bed without feeling guilty later on.

You should invent your own dirty corner for your bed too,

and remember me when you lie on it! Hahha.

Anyway. The right bed was basically “the dirty corner” where we would lie on it after playing on the beach etc. LOL.

The left bed was “the clean bed”

Then offffff for LUNCH!!!!

We told Wati we wanted lunch then proceeded to wait at one of the many tables available.

While waiting for the food to come, we met the French couple!! A.k.a the only 2 other guests there, haha

They were friendly indeed. Their names were uhm… Kat and Bart? I think.

We talked to them ALOT the next few days, lol.

It was really cool talking to people so different from yourself. Isn’t that one of the best parts of travelling?

Finding out where they come from, what they do, whats their culture like, and all that…

I’ve never had such a beautiful lunch before.

Sitting right IN FRONT of the sea, with a breathtaking view before me.. not forgetting my mouthwatering food and my just-as-mouthwatering boyfriend just beside me.

It’s an experience I think very few would have, and it was absolutely lovely.

I love the sea breeze!

…Seaside meal?

Anytime, babe… Anytime I’d love to.

Photobucket

James looking very hungry. Too concentrated on his food to pose for my camera I suppose X___x

Photobucket

Yummmyyy…

Good food. When JESSICA says FOOD is good, it’s DAMN BLOODY GOOD ;)

After having a heart lunch, we went to explore more of this island!

We walked around the reception area and saw…

A READING AREA!

Pretty awesome, eh?

They have a TV there too! Cos the rooms don’t have TV sets.

That’s because you’re supposed to be completely away from hi-tech-kinda-urbanization as possible.

It’s time to kick your legs up, sit back, relax, and enjoy the simple beautiful kampung-like lifestyle that was so relaxing, in comparison to current singapore life…..

I asked Jus what was the best thing to do in Pulau Besar,

and he replied,

“You’re from Singapore right? I’ll tell you whats the best thing to do here.

…It’s to do nothing.

Nobody will tell you to do anything here,

and everybody else here is just here to do nothing except to relax and have a good time.

Now isn’t that wonderful?”

Amen to that mate.

THIS IS WHAT I CALL A “GETAWAY“.

They had good books at the reading area but I simply didn’t have enough time to just sit there and read! Was only there for a few days. Hmph.

I didn’t even listen to ipod or use my HP! Except to call mum to tell her I’m safe.

AND, even though I was VERY tempted to wear contacts, slap on some blusher and concealer to make myself look less pale cuz I didnt have an ounce of cosmetic on me, I still had enough willpower to resist!

Yay! Wanted to be totally “natural”, in terms of gadgets and even make up LOL!

So yeah, if you’re wondering, I’m au naturel for these Pulau Besar posts. *pukes*

…..No medical compensation for any damage caused to your eyes, thanks.

…”Besides a mini library and a TV, what else do they have?!”

That is not too techy?…

DARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111@@@@@

Rofl. Me and James are like addicted to it la!!! Where can play darts in Singapore ah???

Photobucket

Look at the manymanymany holes all around it!

Hahaha I bet they were all caused by people like ME, who can’t aim for nuts!

Anyway, the french couple taught us how to play properly.

I think you’re supposed to like use 3 darts to aim for the highest possible score,

then keep subtracting your score from a total of either 301 (short game) or 501 (long game)

then when your number gets smaller like 21,

You gotta make your last dart throw a DOUBLE to win!

So for 21, you’d have to throw let’s say a…5? And a double 8! 8×2=16, 16+5=21!

Geddit? Muahaha now you are enlightened.

.

.

.

There were plenty of CATS at the island leh!

I heard from Jus that there were people who threw unwanted cats away on this island as a way of getting rid of them. Bah so mean!

They will come under our table for food whenever we eat.. Hahaha and everytime got free show one lor, they will pounce and snarl and scratch each other. Dunno what for, probably too bored.

And there was this pair of cats fighting for days and days!

The cat chased the other cat up the tree and omg it was too funny la. In the end the cat up the tree kept meow-ing for help.

Anyway their cats are all super friendly (TO HUMANS). I guess. Or at least, the ones I’ve met.

Everywhere I go they will just go meow meow meow and follow me, when I stop and look back at them they will pretend to be NOT following me (the cat will pretend to look at grass, etc)

Then when we start walking again the stupid cat follows. HAHAHAHAHA.

Like what James say, “walao this cat gei sio gei siao one lor! like the pink panther guy like that”

Hehehehe. AND OMG I NOTICED THAT ALOT OF THE CATS THERE DON’T HAVE
TAILS?!?

I was absolutely mortified when I saw tail-less cats walking around.

It’s like seeing this dickless naked man walking around, you know?!?

I asked James why do the cats have their tails chopped off, and he told me something like if the cat had its tail chopped off means it has a owner, its not a stray cat. To let others know la.

BUT THATS SUCH A CRUEL WAY TO LET OTHERS KNOW!!!!!!!!!

Like, won’t the cat bleed to death or something? Or is it like lizard’s tail??

Not pain meh?!?!???????

.
.
.
.

Dunno man.

Grossssssss :(

But it is a really interesting idea ah…

Maybe can use it on James also.

I will go and CHOP HIS DICK OFF, to let other girls know that HE’S TAKEN BITCH!!!

Omg that sounds so wrong.

But it will be a good way to not let him become a STRAY also ma…

.
.
.

HAHAHAHA OMG

I MADE A PUN RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

…Did you get it?!?! DID YOU?

…Genius. I am. Really.

.

.

.

Photobucket

Ahhhh!

Looooook at him!

Like some kid who just can’t stop being fascinated with the world. He’s always looking around with his large curious eyes, like going “Hmmm whats that huh??”

LOL bth.

.

.

.

After much dart throwing, we went back to our room to take a nap. =)

Afternoon naps are much loved.

I think I’m this cool sleeping machine, I can wake up at 1, then force myself to go back to sleep, then wake up at 3, then sleep till 5 and wake up again blahblah etc etc…

Like can sleep the whole day! :D

But when I finally DO wake up, I feel so disgusting lethargic I just wanna go back to bed again. HAHAHA.

James was washing up (again. Geez. Am I making myself sound like a dirty girl? seems like he’s always washing up then I like dun need to clean myself liddat, LOL)

And then I SAW SOMETHING AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I NEVER EXPECTED TO SEE IT IN MY HOTEL ROOM.

I was praying to GOD I wouldn’t have such things in my room,

I didn’t want it to be “dirty” =(

Omgomg it scared the shit out of me, it was moving towards me slowly with its red head and I really wanted to cry. I tried to scream but no voice came out.

I just stood there, frozen, watching it come closer to me… Praying to god it won’t hurt me.

Then I plucked up enough courage to SCREAM!!!!!

“JAAAAAAAAMMMMMEEES
SSSSSSsssssSSSSSS
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
SSSsssssssssssssssssssssssssssSSSSSSSSS
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…………!!!!!!!!!!!”

……..

Kua kua kua.

It was a millipede or something.

Don’t really know what it is or how to spell it.

But whatever it is (or “was”, since we squashed it)

I heard that it can kill.

Apparently there’s this malay girl that lived in Ang Mo Kio who got bitten by this in her cheebong in her HDB and like died a few hours later.

WTF?!

Gross.

But the damn thing was very persistent, it didn’t die after we split its body into half! (urgh)

We had to smash the head. Not a pretty sight indeed.

We wanted to clear it but the body remains were literally “mixed” into the flooring also… might as well leave it there.

So we did.

We left the chair and dead dangerous insect there, being squashed and all, for the few days. LOL.

We were afraid that if the chair wasn’t there to remind us, we’d step on it!

.

.

.

After all that drama, we went to bed….

Woke up like 2 hours later. Felt like shit, real tired and all, but still forced James out of bed and we headed to the..

T H E……….
